Conversation
Café Work?

Conversation Cafés
Every week, participants receive an email that includes the conversation guide (a document with the topic for the week, the questions about the topic, and some expressions).
We
start with approximately 10 minutes of general conversation all
together. Then we divide into small groups of two or three participants
with a volunteer for the rest of the time.
Discussion Questions
In the small groups,
a topic is introduced (for example, travel, hobbies, food). Volunteers and participants take turns asking and answering questions about the topic.
Spiritual Section
Next, we look at a short section
from the Christian Bible that relates to the topic and have two or three questions. (If a participant is uncomfortable with this section, they can ask the volunteer to talk about the Bible part last so that they can leave the meeting before that.)
Expressions
Each Café ends with
a few English expressions related to the weekly theme.
Lastly, everyone comes together again to say a short good-bye.
